RE: Uvula

Note that the version (attached) that lasted the longest (7 months) was a re-use of the first uvula (the one with no reinforcing red netting). It’s collar had been torn clear off early on. The 1.5”dia / ¼” wall reinforced vinyl hose failed only because I put holes in it so the concrete could get a better purchase on it. I think the same system with the addition of cast netting and the same reinforced vinyl hose with no holes would be good for a year or more...

  1. Your uvula doubles as a punching bag, I have noticed on several occasions. The last time I saw an older boy punching it really hard until he finally punched it so hard he hurt himself. He saw me watching him with a "look" when he turned around, as he was in agony, and I don't remember what I said to him, but he got the message.

  2. If it's not a punching bag it's a rappelling rope for descending El Cap Tongue. We've toyed with making it easily detached magnetically but at this point I'm concerned that would send too many kids flying.
